It finally happened! We got our first match in! The rain left Oregon temporarily and we got our first match in, which happened to be a Conference match today at Glencoe. We were missing a few guys from our line-up but our guys stepped up and played a tough match on the road. Unfortunately we lost all 4 of our singles matches, but fortunately won all 4 doubles matches. If a dual match is tied 4-4 we then use a tiebreaker system to determine who wins the overall match. The first tiebreaker is total sets won and unfortunately Glencoe beat us 9-8 on total sets won. If the set total would have been tied, then we count total games won to determine a winner. Glencoe beat us 75-67 on total games. The JV Squad played a great match and won 6-2. It was a tough match that came right down to the wire. Our guys gave a good effort today and will continue to improve as the season progresses. The guys and I agree that we need to improve our intensity and focus during matches in order to win close matches like today's match, in the future. Overall it was a fine effort, and the guys are ready to play tomorrow at home against Forest Grove. Match starts at 4pm. Here are today's scores:
