On Wednesday we lost a tough, close one to Tualatin at home. Coming into this match, both our squad and Tualatin were both 3-0 in league, which positioned us in a tie for first place in the Pacific Conference. Going into this match, we knew it would be a tough one. The Tualatin team came out with a little more energy, executed the fundamentals of tennis a little bit better, and were just a little sharper than us during the match. As a result, we lost 3-6 to a tough Tualatin team. Despite the disappointing finish to this match, I am proud of the way the guys competed for every point. The showed tremendous sportsmanship and learned some key lessons about how to compete successfully in a tough match. The wonderful thing about league play is that we have the chance to play Tualatin again before our district tournament. I know the guys will certainly be hungry to earn a victory against Tualatin in a few weeks, and I have confidence that they will be successful in their efforts.
